Our commitment to web accessibility

Ampense is committed to providing a website that is accessible to the widest possible audience, including people with disabilities. As a specialist recruitment and executive search agency for the US energy and utilities sector, we work with organizations and professionals across the country, and every visitor to ampense.com should be able to find information, understand our services, and contact us without facing unnecessary barriers. This accessibility statement explains the standard we aim for, the measures we apply, the limitations we are aware of, and how to reach us if you encounter a problem.

Web accessibility means that websites and digital content are designed and built so that people with disabilities can perceive, understand, navigate, and interact with them. This includes visitors who rely on assistive technology such as screen readers, screen magnification software, speech recognition tools, switch devices, and other alternative input methods, as well as people with visual, auditory, motor, or cognitive disabilities. It also benefits people with temporary or situational limitations, such as a broken arm or a bright screen in direct sunlight.

We treat digital accessibility as an ongoing responsibility, one that continues well beyond any single project. The principle behind it is the same one that guides our recruitment work: capable people should not be excluded by obstacles that have nothing to do with their abilities. Our goal is an accessible experience for every user, on desktop and mobile devices alike, and each improvement to the site is part of that continuing commitment.

The standard we aim for

The ampense.com website aims to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) at Level AA. These guidelines are published by the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C) and are widely recognized as the reference point for website accessibility in the United States and internationally. They are organized around four principles: web content should be perceivable, operable, understandable, and robust.

Level AA is the conformance level most commonly referenced in accessibility legislation, procurement requirements, and organizational policies. It addresses barriers such as insufficient color contrast, missing text alternatives, and content that cannot be operated by keyboard alone. We describe Level AA as our goal and do not claim formal certification of the site. Achieving and sustaining conformance across every page and component requires continuous effort as the site evolves.

Measures we take to support accessibility

Ampense applies a set of practical measures intended to make the website usable for as many visitors as possible. These measures reflect the success criteria defined by WCAG and are reviewed whenever the site is updated.

  • Semantic structure. Pages use a logical heading hierarchy and landmark regions, so that screen reader users can understand and move through the content of each page efficiently.
  • Keyboard operability. Core functionality can be reached and used by keyboard alone, allowing visitors who cannot use a mouse to navigate menus, links, and forms.
  • Text alternatives. Meaningful images carry descriptive alternative text, so information conveyed visually is also available to assistive technology, while decorative images are marked so they are not announced unnecessarily.
  • Color and contrast. Visual presentation is designed around color contrast that aims to meet WCAG Level AA thresholds, supporting visitors with low vision or color vision deficiencies, and color is not used as the only means of conveying information.
  • Resizable, responsive text. Text can be resized and layouts respond to different screen sizes, so content remains readable when zoomed or viewed on a smaller display.
  • Clear language and labeling. We write in plain language and label links and form fields descriptively, which benefits every visitor and particularly those with cognitive disabilities.

These practices apply to the content we publish directly, including information about our recruitment services, our offices in Atlanta, Georgia; Marlborough, Massachusetts; Parsippany, New Jersey; and Cheyenne, Wyoming, and the ways to contact our team. Where third-party tools or embedded content appear on the site, we select them with accessibility in mind, although we do not control their internal design.

Known limitations

Despite these efforts, some parts of the website may not yet be fully accessible. Barriers can arise in the following circumstances:

  • Older content that has not yet been updated to current standards.
  • Downloadable documents, such as PDFs, that lack proper tagging or reading order.
  • Third-party components or embedded media that do not meet the level of conformance we aim for in our own pages.

We do not claim to have identified every issue, and reports from users are an important source of information about where the site falls short.

When we identify a problem, we work to resolve it within a reasonable timeframe and to provide an accessible alternative in the meantime. If content you need is not currently accessible, we will supply the information in another format on request, whether through a phone conversation, a plain-text or accessible document, or direct assistance from a member of our team.

How this statement is reviewed

This accessibility statement is reviewed periodically and updated when the website changes significantly, when accessibility standards evolve, or when we become aware of new known issues. Each review considers feedback received from visitors, developments in WCAG and related accessibility requirements, and changes to the site itself.

We regard this statement as a working document that is updated as the site changes. As we improve the accessibility of our digital experiences, the statement is revised so that it reflects the current state of the site accurately, covering both the measures in place and the limitations that remain.

Compatibility and user experience

The ampense.com website is designed to work with current versions of major browsers, including Chrome, Edge, Firefox, and Safari, and with commonly used assistive technology such as screen readers and screen magnifiers. Using the most recent version of your browser and assistive tools generally provides the best experience. The site responds to different screen sizes, so the same content is available when you visit from a desktop computer, a tablet, or a phone.

Accessibility and general usability reinforce each other. Clear structure, readable text, and predictable navigation help every visitor, including a hiring manager reviewing our executive search services between meetings or an experienced professional researching a career move on a phone. Improvements made for disabled users typically improve the experience for everyone.

Our broader perspective

For Ampense, accessibility is consistent with how we approach recruitment in the energy and utilities sector. Our work depends on recognizing capability wherever it exists and removing obstacles that obscure it. A website that excluded visitors with disabilities would contradict that principle. We therefore treat digital accessibility as a practical requirement for serving a national audience across power generation, renewables, transmission and distribution, oil and gas, and water utilities.

We recognize that accessibility is never fully finished. Standards develop, technology changes, and real user feedback reveals issues that internal review does not catch. Our intention is to keep improving, to respond constructively when problems are raised, and to make contacting Ampense straightforward for every visitor.
